Visual language development for a major public infrastructure brand carries constraints consumer app design doesn't. JR East serves tens of millions of daily passengers. Every visual decision must function at extremes — in bright sunlight, under time pressure.


Impact & Growth
Typography system development dominated this phase. Transit information hierarchy — network maps, timetables, fare information, service disruption alerts — is among the most demanding in any product category. Getting the type scale right required extensive testing.
